Intercalar Prosthesis Application
Intercalary prosthesis is used for reconstruction after wide resection of malignant tumors of the diaphysis of the long bones. The patient can walk with full weight bearing just a day after operation by means of this limb salvage method. On the other hand as an another indication; for the bone metastases; it has been shown that this method has lower complication rates and may lead to longer survival rate according to intramedullary nailing for specific cases especially which has one (solitary) metastases and chemotherapy sensitive diseases.
